Hi to all,
I would like to share this information.
My application for tourist visa B1/B2 was DENIED today! I was about to take the NPTE Exam on Jan. 29, 2013. The consul asked who is my petitioner or agency. I dont have any agency because I spend my personal money to pay for my FCCPT credential eval, visa appli., airfare, processing, etc. I have my Eligibility letter to take the exam from my jurisdiction. 1. If the consul (in US Embassy Manila) will not accept this purpose of travel (NPTE exam), what other reasons will he accept? 2. How many times can one apply for visa in a month? If I plan to take the April 2013 exam, can I re- apply again every after denial before that date? If we (test takers) will not be given tourist visa, how do we take the NPTE exam?
Frustrating.

Hi,
Just want to share with you: I have friends who were given VISAS for Guam to take the NPTE this month. Some of them got denied last October mainly because they are going to take the exam in NEW YORK at that time. They were advised by the Consul to take it in Guam instead - since most of the PT staffing agencies are sending their candidates to Guam for NPTE. They followed the Consul's advise and got their visas last December.
I guess the US mainland is not the best option for some of us to take the NPTE.

This has been our experience with our clients as well. Manila will not issue visitor visas to take the test in the continental US.
They will issue for Guam and Hawaii. The problem with this is that there are a very limited number of seats to take the test in those locations.
I would get registered to take the test as soon as possible in Guam or Hawaii.
There is no reason the consulate should deny applications for visas to take the test in the continental US, but they do, and unfortunately, have broad discretion to do so.

Hi sundance, did you finished your NPTE since you posted 2013? what other options did you do to have the Visa?

If you already hold a US PT license but have no local boards, what are your options to get work in the US? I have been in the US for more than 10 years under a student visa and as a dependent but no green card. Any advise please

Frustrating. same experience today. I applied 2x in the past 2 weeks same results, denied, 214(B). scheduled for april 2015 NPTE in California. paid everything from the ground up. almost two years in experience. I run my own PT clinic in a hospital that my family owns. single, no kids. consulate officer said social and economic ties weren't enough . so frustrating.
