The PPTA is an organization of Filipino physical therapists recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission.
It is a Member Organization of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) and Asian Confederation for Physical Therapy (ACPT).
The association organizes the PPTA Cebu Congress 2012 in cooperation with Cebu Doctors’ University, Southwestern University, and Velez College of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. The congress is featured prominently as a joint activity of these four esteemed institutions to observe of Physical Therapy-Occupational Therapy Week in Cebu.
The objectives of this congress and its pre-congress activities are:
to provide an opportunity for continuing education and exchange of information among physical therapists and students of the profession in Cebu and the Visayas through PPTA initiatives
to inform the body of the directions and concerns of physical therapy in the country
to showcase research from local physical therapists in order to demonstrate research capability and underscore the importance of such endeavors in the development of the physical therapy profession
A. PRE-CONGRESS ACTIVITIES
Southwestern University is pre-congress co-presentor and venue of these pre-congress activities.

Physical therapists’ meeting for Cebu chapter formation: presentation of Chapter guidelines
This meeting is exclusive to PPTA members and professionals who would like to join PPTA.

Future Begins Now: Physical Therapy for Cebu and the Visayas
Overview. PPTA Cebu Congress 2012 aims to provide a venue to discuss the present significant issues being confronted by the physical therapy profession and its individual professionals regarding regulation, education, service delivery, and professional organization representation. A featured forum aims provide an opportunity for major stakeholders of the physical therapy profession in the country to present their views regarding the future state of profession in the areas of licensure and regulation, undergraduate and post-graduate education, service demand and supply, and professional organization. The program also provides an opportunity for physical therapy research to be presented by local practitioners.
Participants. Jointly organized by PPTA and the three schools of physical therapy in Cebu, it will be the highlight of their joint celebration of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Week. The congress will be attended by students and faculty, aside from being opened to local professionals. Physical therapy schools and practitioners of neighboring provinces are also invited to this whole-day event.
