Hi everyone, I just wanted to help. I just finished my visa screen certificate recently and I am through with credential evaluation and licensure.
Just a piece of advice for those who did not have any agency. Try to complete first the visa screen, once you have it you have no more problems. I found three recruitment agency who offered free package from filing the visa, lawyer's fee down to airfare and some even have housing accomodation and sign-on bonus. So please think twice before commiting yourselves to any agency who ask for fees. Nowadays, if you want to go to US you have to apply for visa screen so after finishing that requirement, why pay to an agency when you can leave the country for free. In some cases you have to pay only for a one-way ticket and no more thousands of dollars of agency fee.
Recruitment agency is better than placement agency. You have to know this first because recruitment agency don't ask for agency fee while the other one asks for "placement fee."
For those of you guys who already have visa screen and was applying for NY. This is the best agency. Apply at www.sentosarecruitment.com. This office is also registered in POEA. They offer free package for an applicant with complete requirement and they worked fast, they are even willing to pay for premium processing.
The itss is also good, they also offer free package for applicants with visa screen with no placement fee but they are quite slow in processing, I could not wait for them anymore that's why I signed up with Sentosa. The contact number of this agency can be found here, try to look in one of the threads.
hcmii offered me a sign on bonus and a pretty nice rate for a starter like me. They said that they will file for my visa for free but they want me to shoulder my one-way ticket (pwede na din), but they only sent me the offer letter and when I demanded for the detailed contract, they could not give it to me. So be careful, it's up to you if you want to take the risk of signing the offer letter because once you sign it, you are committed to them without knowing what they really have in store for you. Unlike the other agencies, they are clearly stating in writing the benefits that you will receive and other things that they will pay for you. Also, they can really bring you to US but they don't have an office here in the Philippines and they are not registered in POEA.
Anyone of you who heard of 21st century? it is located near welcome rotonda, QC. This is also quite nice. They will ask only $1500 as an agnecy fee upon approval of your visa, before leaving the country and you will pay the rest by installment when you reached the states, which is equivalent to your one month salary. The employer will pay for your airfare and they give sign-on bonus. But. . . .you have to pass NPTE in Guam and you will pay for the expenses of taking NPTE.
I tried other agencies posted here, and the rest asked for thousands of dollars. I don't intend to ruin their reputation I just want to help you guys coz just recently prior to signing with Sentosa, I've been in a seminar for NY held in Shangrila-Makati last 10/27 which I got through this website. It's true that that guy is asking less than what other agencies are asking for and he wants you to pay $2000 right away para siguro commited ka na sa kanya kasi nga if the applicant will learn about other agencies giving free offers, wala na magaaply sa kanya.
I think not all agencies who are not registered in POEA are illegal like the aegistherapies. They also offer free package for deserving PT applicants with good experience. Try aplying at www.aegistherapies.com.
So think about this and May God bless you on your agency quest.
