Just wanted to share some info I got about Woodhaven PT. I received this info. courtesy of a friend I met online, Monica.
Here are the steps, fees and time frame for processing of H1B (Working Visa) Sponsorship by the Clinic/Nursing Home thru Woodhaven PT. We will assist, inform and follow-up all the paper works involved in the process. All questions can be directed to us or to the lawyer, if applicable.
STEP 1.Processing of FCCPT Verification/Visa Screening
a. We will send the Type 1 FCCPT Form to the Applicant for Notary and Signing. The applicant will forward directly to FCCPT the scores from ETS specifically TOEFL, TSE and TWE. FCCPT shall request the school and PRC to submit the FILLED-UP forms directly to FCCPT. The Applicant cannot send directly to FCCPT. FCCPT will disregard documents sent by the APPLICANT. The APPLICANT shall issue a authorization to Woodhaven PT to accept and send correspondence on the Applicants behalf. Woodhaven PT shall follow-up all documents with FCCPT. Woodhaven PT will update the Applicant every two weeks.
DURATION: 45 to 120 days
STEP 2. After completion of verification and collating of forms required for the state required, FCCPT shall forward the verified forms to the State (New York) for evaluation by the Bureau of Comparative Education. The bureau will issue a decision in 3-4 weeks if the educational credentials are approved. During this time, the APPLICANT thru Woodhaven PT will submit Forms 1 and 5 to the New York State. The NYSED will issue a letter of approval of education and eligibility letter for limited permit to practice in New York.
DURATION: 3-7 weeks
FEES for Step 1 and 2: $ 1,240.00
STEP 3. Once the above steps are completed, the APPLICANT will submit the following to Woodhaven PT for INS processing (premium (15 days) if applicable)
resume, diploma, transcript, Phil license and board rating (if applicable), cert of employment (if applicant), NY state approval letter , NY state eligibility letter. contract of employment (to be signed by the APPLICANT)
DURATION: 2 weeks
FEES (including lawyer): $3,896
STEP 4.Once INS approved the petition, Woodhaven PT will send the documents along with the guidelines for US Embassy (Manila) interview for H1B applicants. The applicant shall pay fees for the Embassy.
STEP 5. Once the H1B Visa is issued, Woodhaven PT will send guidelines for POEA Accreditation for OFW (overseas Filipino workers). Fees shall be paid by the applicant.
STEP 6. Book your one-way ticket to a direct flight to JFK-New York City. Since the employer is based in New York, INS will check if you are really going to work in the state. The APPLICANT shall pay airline tickets.
STEP 7. Once the APPLICANT arrives in New York, Woodhaven PT shall assist the APPLICANT for any housing or lodging within the area of work. Woodhaven PT shall introduce the APPLICANT to the PETITIONER/EMPLOYER as soon as the APPLICANT is ready to work.
THE APPLICANT shall pay the balance of $2000 Placement fee to Woodhaven PT in 10 payments.
TOTAL FEES INVOLVED EXCLUDING PLACEMENT FEE of $2000: $4636
Approximate Time to arrive in New York: 7-8 months
Starting salary for PT with permits from $35,000 to $ 40,000/year with benefits CLINIC for PT licensed $50,000 to 60,000/year with benefits from the CLINIC
Woodhaven PT will not be the EMPLOYER but the CLINIC.
