I have a PT friend, graduated 1998 and applied for credentialling in FCCPT for california. The result was that he lacked units in Pharmacology. So he decided to try ICD (still for cali)..and his education was found to be substantially equivalent. How come FCCPT and ICD had different results? Don't they use the same form for CALIFORNIA?
Pls enlighten me on this.. TnX! Coz im still confused where to have my credentialling done...(ICD is expensive 400$ and that's per state)..and most employers prefer FCCPT..TY!

FCCPT and ICD are Private credentialing body or agency. Though they have different rules and regulations about the credential process, they all follow the general rule of FSBPT re: Credential evaluation. FCCPT evaluates credentials with the use of current CWT5 (coursework tool 5) which includes the new courses like Pharma, CBR, Cultural competency, etc. ICD on the other hand based their evaluation on the year of the PT graduation (depending on the state), that is why their fee are very specific to the state where you are planning your credential be evaluated.

Hello. I want to work in NYC, which credentialing body should I apply to: ICD or NYSED? ICD is cheaper by about $300. Any suggestions? Please help. Much thanks.
