COURSE OBJECTIVES
This four-part seminar for all health professionals involved in the care of
the elderly and those at risk for osteoporosis.
The following are the course objectives:
· Define osteoporosis
· Identify risk factors and methods of prevention of osteoporosis and its complications
· Identify precautions in the handling of patients with osteoporosis
· Identify the role of diet in the prevention and management of osteoporosis
· Identify modifications of lifestyle, energy, and joint conservation techniques for the elderly and for those at risk for osteoporosis
· Enumerate the exercises in the Meek’s Method of Osteoporosis Management

COURSE PRESENTERS
Philippines Cabahug, MD, graduated with a degree of BSPT from UP Manila in
1994. She pursued further studies in Medicine at St. Luke’s Medical Center
College of Medicine where she graduated in 2000. She finished her residency
training in Rehabilitation Medicine from UP-PGH. Dr. Cabahug recently
completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Gerontology and Geriatrics in Malta.
Marilou Librando, MSPH, graduated with a degree of BS Nutrition from UP Los
Baños and finished her graduate studies in UP Manila with a Master’s degree
in Public Health. She is presently a senior nutritionist and dietician at
the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital.
Jennifer Kho, OTRP, graduated with a degree of BSOT from UP Manila in 1997.
She has been a Chief Occupational Therapist at UP-PGH where she served for
almost 7 years. Presently, she is a therapist at Possibility Weavers.
Also, Ms. Kho has finished graduate units in Reading Education at UP
Diliman.
Leonides Bermejo, RPT, PTRP, graduated with a degree of BSPT from UP Manila
in 1993. She practiced in the Philippines as an instructor PT in various
colleges and universities before moving to the United States where she
worked for almost 7 years in various rehabilitation centers in Arizona and
Florida.
COURSE FEES and REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
