I have a question: I met a fellow PT here in Nevada who was so worried about his exam regarding the NPTE exam. He is temporarily staying with his family here, though he was applying for New York. He acquired his H1b visa 4 months ago and took the examination in his 5th month. He is as far as he know kind of devasted in the examination. In 6th month his visa will expire, and this is where his problem lies right now. My question is- Is there any possibility of extending his visa for a few months before it expires? Or do you know anyone with such condition? What did they do?

I think it would be better for him to contact his employer who petitioned for him and ask for an extension which is possible. Probably he might then be given a conditional extension status. let's say, within three months, he have to comply/ pass his NPTE or he may not be granted an extension anymore. i suggest he should seek reputable lawyers for further opinions with regards to this matter. better to consult/ask more than one or two lawyers since not all lawyers have the same strategy and this would give him the opportunity to choose which better idea/strategy is of benefit to his situation..

I read some statistics dated 2004 from the FSBPT and ruled out some data regarding the # of foreign educated PT who passed their exam (NPTE), and sad to say "zero as in none" passed the exam for the State of MIchigan. that is for both endorsement and licensure thru exam.i dont know how or what are their basis on the statistics presented but my concern is that im planning to seek licensure on them! i dont want to waste my time, money and effort that at the end, "luhaan ako". please if someone would like to share and give their advise to me, send me your email messages on deltoidus@yahoo.com thank so much may napasaya kayong kaluluwa....

Hi. I am very thankful that i found this site. I am presently residing here in Seattle Washington. Just got my FCCPT result and still on the way of submitting the state requirements to take the NPTE. I would be glad to meet Filipino PTs that are working in the same state. That would be great!.. Just got here last May of this year.
Hope to see some Filipino PTs here soon.
