used to be one... for 3 years for 4 companies in the makati/ortigas/alabang business corridor (there was a time I was working for two companies; on a part-time basis)
as we speak, technology for voice to text systems are being developed which would phased out markedly the mt job market in about 15-20 years. there's nothing wrong with medtrans, it's a good job but if one prefers social contact then it's not the job for you.
my mt skills helped a lot in passing (with flying colors) the english proficiency exams and taught me how the american healthcare system works and functions; things which one would not get in a PT textbook.

me for three years now and been through 4 companies heheh! makati, ortigas, davao and now mandaluyong! i agree..this job will surely help you pass those english proficiency exams! may carpal tunnel na ata ako  |

hello! im also a medical transcriptionist...i worked in clark, pampanga for two years, then here in tarlac for two years and now homebased med trans...work and take care of my baby at the same time...  ...my hubby is working for a medtrans co. in paranaque as a tech.support engineer. "bingi na ako... ;D" |

Well, as for me, I'm currently working in an MT company somewhere in QC, not that long, 6 months palang. I guess, it is a better job, compared to working in a call center, which is a very different field. Hirap kase maging PT d2 sa Pilipinas.

yes! me too, I started working for an MT company here in Cebu. It's one of the best jobs I've had coz it has taught me a lot, compared to the stint i had in a call center. Plus, advantage tlga kasi now I know how to do good notes, kasi may idea ka na how US clinics would usually do format of their records. I'm happy as an MT but I know I'd be happier if I am the one dictating the health record. hehehe

Well, i think this thread has been quite a long time na since it was posted, , but even though...heheheh i will still reply...
Well me, I'm also a medical transcriptionist. I worked for 5 years as a medtrans in one of the pioneer medtrans company as I may say so....because a lot of medtrans company came out na rin..... and now its my second year here in Saudi Arabia as a medical transcriptionist in Radiology Department....I'm still very thankful for my previous company even though promotion is quite "MAILAP" sa akin...hehehheheheh

I used to work as a medical reviewer for a medtrans company in makati... It was a great experience... I worked with fellow PTs who were not practicing... Some of them are even board topnotchers...It feels so sad that all the hardships we had gone through would end up in those jobs...People have high regards on our profession...Just do best in whatever we do...That's the discipline we got from being PTs...Long live the profession...
