Hello, I applied for FCCPT credentials review and they stated that "Based on the documents provided, my education is not substantially equivalent to the first profession degree in Physical Therapy in the United States" I am a graduate in the Philippines batch 2000 and I'm trying to apply in Illinois. Can anyone shed light on this and advise me on what to do so I can apply for licensure/to take the exam in this state. Thank you so much! Please e-mail me at cwg_md@yahoo.com

Hello! I am in the same predicament. I am based in California and just received my credential report today. My 1st report prepared for CA stated my education meets the requirements of the CA ELEER, but the 2nd report prepared for applicant (CWE5) states it is not substantially equivalent to the first professional degree in PT in th US. Now I'm confused if I should continue applying for the PT Boards of CA for them to give me the go signal to take NPTE-iPT on December. I'd appreciate it if you can help sort this out for me. Thanks. my email add is arlynfrances@yahoo.com.

Hi there!
According to FSBPT, starting July of 2009, all credential evaluations will be based on the current coursework which is the CWT5.
There are some changes on the subjects that need to be done and are required by FCCPT.
In my case, I graduated 2003 but since I only applied for FCCPT after July of 2009, then i have to take some subjects that are missing like Cultural competency, Differential Diagnosis,Screening and Referral.
Again, all subjects depends on your school of origin.
I believe that the report will state if what subjects are missing right? Then we have no choice but to take those subjects and once you completed all the missing subjects then apply for reevaluation and it will take 1 month to complete.

Hi puto695! Good day! In my case i have to go to Philippine Rehabilation Institute Inc. in Quezon City to take those missing subjects. But I've heard that other schools like Silliman University in Dumaguete, Southwestern university in Cebu and FEU in quezon city also offers some remediation courses. You just have to inquire with them directly. Also if you could ask some of your batchmates on how they go about the requirements for FCCPT. I'm sure they do have have the same scenario as you do. That is if they process their evaluation after July of 2009. How to start your application for US? 1.Process your FCCPT .......NOW! Use FCCPT Type 1. visit www.fccpt.org for more information. You can download all the forms and you can aslo see all the needed papers like TOR,PRC documents etc. and some documents that need to be forwarded to your school and to PRC. 2.Take the TOEFL-iBT exam. Note: Toefl-ibt is needed for FCCPT Evaluation. FCCPT - once youve completed all the requirements would take 10weeks to process. 3. While waiting for the FCCPT results, I recommend you to review for the NPTE. NPTE review will take approximately 5-6mos depending on your review center. Review centers like St. Louis and SRG offers NPTE with flexible schedules. 4. Then look for employers that will sponsor you for your visa. Note: There are several Agencies who offer financial assistance for FCCPT, Toefl-ibt, NPTE review, Re-evaluation, Remediation for lacking subjects, airfare ticket and accomodations during the exam and so much more. That's how demand PT's right now! Email me if you have more questions and clarifications. Members of the group, PLS input your ideas and suggestions! Thank you! GOD BLESS TO ALL!!!!

Hi pt2003,
I am planning to take my TOEFL this June or July in Saudi Arabia. In the mean time,I wanted to enroll my lacking subjects(which I don't know which are those subjects) in PRI as suggested.May I know how will access this school for application and their fees.
By the way,I graduated from Pines City Colleges,1996 and got my lic on 1997.Most of my classmate before, they're filed under ICD evaluationThat's why I didn't know the process under FCCPT.
My contract will ends next year June 2012.While waiting to finish it,I'm planning to process all documents here,if possible for me. However,I'm confused where to find a good agency to offer financial assistance.
God Bless to all.

Hi puto695,
For now, i would suggest if you could get some feedbacks or more information from your batchmates who used FCCPT as the credentialing body and you should also know if when did they apply. You should be getting that information from someone who processed their FCCPT evaluation after July 2009.
If I'm not mistaken 80-90% uses FCCPT and most agencies are looking for FCCPT Certification.
You can also ask your school on what are the missing subjects because sometimes if not all the time it also depends on how your school present your detailed syllabus. I've heard from my PT friends here that although they took the subject in college but the school was not able to provide a thorough information and detailed descripton of the subject, the reason why it will be mark as "NOT SUFFICIENT".
Regards.

Hello puto695..since this is your first time to apply: go to the fccpt website ( look for primary services then choose Type 1 Comprehensive Credentials Review ) every instruction is provided plus documents they require You need to contact your PT school's registrar (in my case it was our school's registrar and secretary ) and inform them about the FCCPT credentialling process that you'll be doing because some important documents need to come from the university you graduated from, even PRC need to submit documents too.. review for toefl.ibt and when you are ready, just register at www.ets.orgcheck for the FCCPT code coz a copy of your toefl.ibt result should come from ets God bless!!!

Hi pt2003. Do you have any idea regarding Visa screen from CGFNS? I had my credentialing approved with ICA. How many weeks usually does it take for the visa screen to be approved from them?

Hi !!!!
Thank you puto695! Your very much welcome! GOD Bless you too!
chinitangPT is correct. You can visit their website and better yet call then directly. Again ask your batchmates and your school. And if you think that your missing that subject then enroll right away so you will include those subjects / TOR on your original TOR from your school so would only pay for one payment for FCCPT and no need for another fee for the Re-evaluation.
To lucymarie, I apologize but i have no idea on how CGFNS process their own credentialing. Better check their website.
God blees to all!!

Good day to all! First, i would like to address the concern regarding the remediation for some missing subjects for the FCCPT Type 1 especially to those who are living and/or working abroad. Our Lady of Fatima University offers long Distance or online learning for some subjects for FCCPT. Here's the link: fatima.edu.ph/FATIMA_WEB/Templates/content.asp?c=cpptHere's my personal suggestion for which I think is a good agency for PT: 1. Passportusa.com under health carousel www.passportusa.com2. Avant Healthcare - nice one! 3. Medpro Ask them directly to know what are their offers. 90% of the said agencies offers: FREE : FCCPT Type 1 ( reimbursed if you have one already) Toefl-ibt Review and Exam ( reimbursed if you have one already) Remediation for missing subjects Re-evaluation NPTE Review Visa Airfare and Accomodation 1-2 months free housing once you pass the NPTE and about to start your job and so much more..... Hope this helps! More Power To All Pinoy PT's!!!!
