NPTE is not availabe in Philippines. One can take it in Guam, Saipan or any US territories. US embassy in Philippines or anywhere abroad does not give tourist visa anymore for foreign PT to take a licensure exam to mainland US.

The NPTE registration form asks for a Social Security Number and I do not have one. What do I do?
We require a unique identification number in order for you to sit for the examination. This should be your US Social Security Number. If you do not have a Social Security Number, you can obtain one from the Social Security Administration web site or call 1-800-772-1213.
In rare cases where a candidate cannot obtain a Social Security Number, an Alternate Identification Number (AIN) may be obtained from FSBPT. After you have filled out the application, mail it to FSBPT. Your registration will not be processed without either a Social Security Number or an Alternate Identification Number.
Click here to download the application form for the AIN... www.fsbpt.org/download/Application_for_AIN.pdfClick here to download the application form for the SSN... www.ssa.gov/online/ss-5.pdf(Acrobat Reader, a software program which can be downloaded for free would be needed for you to download the form) It is worthy to note that one can only apply for SSN only when he/she is already in the U.S. My understanding is that one may proceed with the idea of going to Guam to sit for the exam even without the help of an agency or a direct employer but eventually one will be needing their help in getting a working visa. Any corrections, I humbly welcome! Goodluck!

A foreign Filipino PT can process his own application to take a licensure in Guam or any US territories. You need to decide what state where you wish to take the NPTE. Most states have their own websites explaining on how to meet their requirements. You need to apply for credentialing like FCCPT( this is the currently required by most states) and ICD. Requirements for FCCPT are the english exams like TOEFL, TSE and TWE. Your FCCPT report can then be forwarded to the State where you wish to apply for the examination. You can go to www.fccpt.orgSome states requires you to have an SS number. They will not accept your application without it. I suggest that you go to states that does not ask for SS number. The US embassy's approval is subjective when it comes to taking an examination to thier mainland. But they seldom deny you to take an exams in US territories like Guam as long as you have the necessary documents to prove that you really are going to take the exams. You can process your own application without the help of any agency in the Philppines.
